Kitchen island design ideas
Even though some kitchen islands are not the prettiest, they do improve function and workspace in the kitchen, saving valuable time in today’s busy kitchen. But islands can also be styled with a sink, a stovetop, warming drawers, small refrigerators, or a dishwasher. A kitchen island makes food prep and cleanup much more convenient. Some islands have space for stools, creating an area for breakfast or snacks. Sometimes a room divider, a kitchen island can also be used as a self-service table at a party.
Most kitchen islands are designed to work in U-shape and L-shape kitchens, because they can shorten the distance between work centers, as well as help to direct traffic from coming inside the work area. Well designed islands also add aesthetics and interest to the kitchen.
